Furnace-Mounted Humidifiers Contribute to a
Healthier Home Environment
A few years ago, independent laboratory testing revealed that portable, aerosol-producing, room-type humidifiers release harmful bacteria and particulate matter into the air. As a result, the myth was born that all humidifiers contribute to poor health.
To test this hypothesis, Skuttle Indoor Air Quality Products, along with nine other members of the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI) and the Ben Franklin Partnership Program, funded a $300,000 research project conducted by qualified Pennsylvania State University scientists. The study involved three types of humidifiers: 1) rotating drum, 2) electric steam and 3. flow-through. After 18 months of intensive research, scientists concluded that none of the three types of humidifiers tested produced or released harmful contaminants.
Without a doubt, furnace-mounted home humidifiers, like the Skuttle home humidifiers featured here, contribute to a cleaner, safer home environment. It's a fact you and your family can rely on!
