Consultant says "Air Ducts have more germs than a chicken coop"

Gray Robertson, president of an air conditioning consulting company, AVGA Atlantic Inc. Robertson, an indoor air pollution expert claims that some ventilation systems have more germs and bacteria than in a chicken coop.  AVGA Atlantic Inc. has investigated air ventilation systems in US buildings measuring more than 6.5 million square feet.. In 35% of the buildings there was no fresh air coming into the offices because ventilating fans had either been turned off or down to conserve energy, and 64% of the buildings had insufficient fresh air. About 38% of the ductwork had gross contamination. Dead birds, snakes, rats, and cockroaches were often found in the air conditioning ducts. AVGA Atlantic has discovered more than 27 species of fungus in ventilation systems in US buildings.
